A noite de domingo, 22 de maio, em Las Vegas foi de Justin Bieber. O canadense de 17 anos venceu oito das 12 categorias em que concorria, inclusive a aberta ao público, de Fan Favorite Billboard, esta categoria é inédita no Billboard Music Awards, foram mais de 1,6 milhões de votos computados, e a maioria foram dos fãs de Bieber.
Bieber foi acompanhado por sua mãe Pattie Mallette e sua namorada, Selena Gomez. E também apresentou a categoria Top Female Artist, onde a cantora Rihanna foi a vencedora.
Nenhum artista venceu em mais categorias que Bieber na noite do BMA 2011, Eminem ficou em segundo lugar, como o que levou mais prêmios.
Em uma vitória impressioante, o canadense levou para casa oito troféus incluindo o Fan Favorite, Digital Artist, New Artist, Digital Media Artist e Pop Album (My World 2.0).
Bieber, estava vestindo com um reluzente smoking de ouro com preto, e fez questão de não fazer uma grande palpites de suas conquistas para a noite. Nem todas as categorias foram televisionadas e no caso de Bieber, duas das que ele venceu foram, a de Top Digital Artist e a de Top New Artist.

Ao receber o prêmio Bieber estava visivelmente emocionado e relembrou que apesar de ser um garoto simples de uma pequena cidade no Canadá, ele teve ajuda de muitas pessoas que o ajudaram a expandir sua carreira de sua pequena cidade para o mundo. Justin disse: "Eu não sei ... Eu tenho só dezessete anos ... Eu quero agradecer a Deus porque, você sabe, ele me abençoou muito. Todo dia é louco, eu vejo tantas pessoas, eu posso fazer muita gente sorrir e fazê-los felizes. É incrível estar cercado por pessoas maravilhosas, Quero novamente agradecer aos meus fãs por serem sido tão fantásticos e à minha mãe. Mãe, você foi incrível. Você já viajou por toda parte comigo, descobri as coisas estúpidas que eu fiz, você é maravilhosa e eu te amo ".
Juss continua: "Quero agradecer a minha equipe porque eles me ajudam a continar um garoto normal. Desculpe se eu insistir, mas eu quero agradecer a Kenny, Ryan e bom, todo mundo, os caras são lendários, eu amo vocês! "
Ao receber o prêmio Bieber estava emocionado e recebeu aplausos e gritos de torcida da platéia, e prestou uma homenagem à sua mãe Pattie, dizendo que a amava muito e que ela é maravilhosa, Pattie emocionada, recebeu o apoio de Selena Gomez. Bieber agradeceu mais uma vez aos seus fãs e encorajou a quem tem um sonho seguir o mesmo acreditando.
